Drey's Story

One night at church this precious little curly haired boy with big brown eyes peeked over the pew at me. Drawn to this little boy I wanted to know who he was? With a little investigation I found out that his name was Drey and he was 18 months old. Through some unfortunate circumstances his mother had fallen into some hard times and was in need of someone helping her raise him. I was more than eager for this beautiful child to go home with me. The first few months Drey was scared and nervous of his new surrounding. After a while and a new baby brother, Drey felt right at home. One year later his mother let me and my husband adopt him. Today Drey is a proud big brother, and a thriving big boy. Drey's birth mom has a big part in our everyday lives. Drey knows he's adopted and who his birth mom is. He says "now I have 2 mommys!" If not for his birth mom's loving decision, I would be the mother to two little boys. Now I'm a blessed mother of three wonderful boys, and a new best friend.

Our Mission

Dixie Hills Baptist Church is a church who cares about the children and families of our community. It is our mission to find a permanent christian family for as many children as possible and to influence their lives for the kingdom of GOD. Adoption and Foster Parenting is not a second choice to parenting, but a 1st choice of caring about what God cares about. God created children to be raised by families, not government. Here at Dixie Hills we are following the word as in James 1:27 "caring for orphans in their trouble" by:

Educating and equipping the church on adoption and foster care

Raising money for our communties local foster children

Helping Godly parents overcome the financial burden of adopting children

Loving, supporting, and guiding every person we come in contact with that is involved with or considering adoption or foster parenting.
